THEATRE
Adelina has had the joy of collaborating with many kinds of theater and performance artists over the years. As an actor she has worked under the direction of Cora Cardona, Patrick Kelly, Daniel Alexander Jones, Cherríe Moraga, D'Lo, Tracy Ward, Rose Marcario, Sharyn Blumenthal, and Mark Valdez to name a few. She has also taken great joy in directing and helping others develop their work and skills. Even as she explores other genres and works in different mediums, her first and longest true love is simply... teatro.
Now, along with Cherríe Moraga, Celia Herrera Rodríguez and the founding Board of Directors (Marisa Becerra, Lorenzo Herrera y Lozano, and Orlando Ramirez), she takes much pride in the formation of
cihuatl productions. Launched in the summer of 2010 in Southern California - and making its official Bay Area premiere in 2012 - Adelina is honored to perform in the trickster role of "Coyote" and to assistant direct NEW FIRE: To Put Things Right Again written and directed by Moraga; designed by Rodríguez; choreographed by Alleluia Panís; along with the collaborative efforts of many other formidable artists. This play is both "theater and ceremony" and continues to forge new dramatic terrain from a queer and Xicana Indigenous vision.
